Why Pocket Pro
Although there are a number of different types of holsters for every day carry (EDC): shoulder holsters, ankle holsters and pocket holsters, currently the most popular holsters for EDC are inside-the-waistband (IWB) and outside-the-waistband (OWB). These two types of holsters are considered by most experts to be superior to the others, especially pocket carry, both in terms of reliability and speed of presentation. They are, however, inferior in terms of comfort and concealability. With IWB carry you have a gun, an irregular shaped hunk of metal, pressed against your abdomen by your belt. Whence comes the old adage, “carrying a gun isn't supposed to be comfortable, it's supposed to be a comfort." With OWB carry you have a gun hanging out for all the world to see if there's a gust of wind or you happen to bend over. The Pocket Pro, which attaches to IWB holsters and to OWB paddle holsters provides you with the same reliability and virtually the same draw speed they afford, but without the physical and mental discomforts they can cause.
According to gun safety experts a pocket holster only needs to do three things: prevent the gun from falling out of the pocket, cover the trigger to prevent an inadvertent discharge of the gun, and lastly release the gun when it is drawn. Seems simple enough, but current pocket holsters still struggle to meet these requirements. Soft neoprene-filled nylon fabric pocket holsters, do rather poorly at keeping the gun in your pocket due to the fact that they have next to no retention. Kydex or leather pocket holsters, which attempt to stay in the pocket when the gun is drawn by employing a hook to catch the opening of the pocket, do have good retention, but in order to release the gun during the draw they require the user to pay close attention to how they are drawing. If you don't manage to hook the holster on the pocket opening when drawing, once again the holster will stay on the gun and obscure the trigger. These holsters require you to draw in an unnatural, rearward or forward motion or use a preconditioning step, reaching into the pocket and breaking the retention of the holster with a thumb press. Both of these means tend to slow the draw and too often result in mishaps. The Pocket Pro, on the other hand, not only works every time, it enables you to draw naturally and thus much faster. Perhaps most important of all, it enables you to draw without thinking when there's no time to think.
Bottom line, the Pocket Pro allows you to convert your favorite IWB holster or paddle holster into a super pocket holster whenever you're going to an event where you want your holster better concealed or when you just want to give your gut a break.
